When are you guys updating the game? I can't wait.

(-1)

i think they stopped working on it. it could have been an awesome game

(+1)

why do you think that?

(-1)

its been an year and one day since the last update

There's regular updates on steam. Including having a new playtest version to download using the Game Maker engine that arrived on the the 20th of August 2024. They have hardly stopped working on it and even had a booth at Gamescom last week.

what is the process for downloading on mac?

When I tried, my computer wouldn't let me open the file saying "this file may be damaged"

i just tried another unzipper. The Unrchiver

(+1)

how can i go to next level

I LOVE this game, is the release date for Steam still TBA? And will it be free?

Download failed so can't wait for the Steam release!

I acutually loved this one, and I don't play roguelites at all. But it was a lot of fun!!

Is this not available on browser anymore? :(

Sadly not

availiable on newgrounds

Can't believe I waited so long before playing this, It's absolutely AWESOME !

About a couple of runs in I was already feeling OP, slashing through hordes of enemies DEAD creatures

I love this game sooo much

Super fun! Found this build for midgard that really clicked with me.

Fenrir's Claws MT+3, Gungnir MT+1, Whirl Slash MT+2, Ember Axe and Yggdrasil's Pulse MT+1. That's a semi-melee build. Fenrir's Claws wipe almost everything, Yggdrasil ignores barriers doing damage to everything in it's path, and Gugnir let's you snipe sorcerers and hogs to stun or straight up kill them. Besides those, you really need to dash towards the enemies and keep your sword's range worth of a distance of them, and by doing that you really don't need to be afraid of them. This build rewards you a lot for being offensive while not disarming you when you need to get away to regain health or to find a better opportunity to rush into the crowd.

First time here on Itch, and what a hell of a first impression!

Amazing game!

Idea: How about adding different main weapons for the character, so it's not only the sword?

First off, it has a Mac build which makes it better than most games on here because now i can play it. Second, off, AWSOME GAME! amazing visuals, powers that MEAN something, different levels each "unique" (some feel a little copy pasted but, may just be because i'm use to random generation from adventure rouge-lites) And is just in general a fun game, only problem? I doubt people are gonna donate money to get this game popular, 10/10 game

This look super cool, I'm excited to check it out.

Really like this game, I just wanna point out one thing: when your attack speed is really high, the stated cooldown doesn't match the actual cooldown. Also cooldowns seem to go into the negatives, so you might wanna look into that. Still, really solid game!

very nice game! I like the music and the skill tree system blended to the gameplay.
If I could suggest something: electric powers are very weak and I don't know if they're supposed to do some knockback but it should be a bit stronger.
But overall the game is great, I've already played 2-3 hours!

Gg

Just tried it out, it's really good! My initial gripe was "too easy" since my first run was over a half hour, but world levels can make up for that. I'd like to see more reasons to use the normal melee attack, as you can make a ranged build and just forget about it so far, but I see some talents that make it important so maybe you're already on that. I may not understand the level up system. I see you can reroll all 4, but I think it would be better if you could pick which of the 4 you get at first and then reroll the ones you don't want, at a higher cost. Maybe even make the skills cost more, after 1 or 2 levels I can pick all 4 every time, I think it would be better to force more specialization.

These are just some ideas. All in all, I'd say you're onto something here! The game is good from the demo, and it may be great by full release! I may revisit the comments here after I mess around with it more.

It already does that tho. Blood buys level-specific upgrades, but the amount of blood you have when you die counts as EXP to your general level. The general level lets you unlock new locations and every level gives a point to spend on a permanent upgrade across the game.

You CAN buy everything, but the more you spend the less your time is worth at the end of the day.

Besides that, leveling up in-game gets exponentially harder, so if you throw away abilities you bought upgrades to, the less damage you will do, which will make you take even more time to have the opportunity to buy a upgrade that is relevant to the new ability, so there's a point in-game where it is not long worth it (timewise) to change your build, at least for Midgard, the current available level.

I'd like to see more reasons to use the normal melee attack, as you can make a ranged build and just forget about it so far

I commented a build that really rewards you for being offensive, but not totally melee, tho. Check it out.

Super fun to play! Although I do think progression is a little fast to start- my first two games I died at World 1 and 0 respectively and then I proceeded to keep going until World Level 14. Maybe my first two runs were flukes, I dunno. What I do know is that I'm having a blast so far. 👍

good game, it forces you to keep moving, unlike the other games in this genre and keep you on your toes

This looks promising. I am working on something similar with a data driven feedback loop. I'm curious how you did it. We should connect and nerd out about devlife :)

sure haha, hit me up anytime :)

Here's my discord: emboss3

Let me know if discord doesn't work for you :)

once in the sword choosing level up, if you open stats then close it at any point in time without leaving that level up, the 2 left swords stay while everything else move

but good game mate!

Excellent game. The feedback is really well done, between animations and sounds. The gameplay is easy to get and there isn't unnessecary controls. Keep going, I'll buy it on steam at the release.

A few recommendations if I can, just for improving the game and I'm aware it can be on the to do list.

Sometimes the powerup like the apple or the skull spawns outside of the visible screen at the bottom of the map and it can be hard to the catch them as it's impossible to really see the character. Also sometimes all sounds stops playing while another is playing (like the horn when collecting a skull), the sounds are a really good audio feedback.

Cool game! How did you do the clustering of enemies? Any code or link would be much appreciated.
